In 2019, Denistone East Public School will be participating in NAPLAN Online.
The National Assessment Program for Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an Australia-wide standardised test that students from years 3, 5, 7, and 9 sit each year.
Before the end of Term 1, students in Years 3 and 5 will sit a practice test in preparation for the assessment period in Weeks 3 and 4 of Term 2 (May 13 - May 24).
See the below dates for more information.
Week 10, Term 1 (April 1 - April 5) Practice Test Week
Students from Years 3 and 5 will sit a 45 minute practice test. This is designed to familiarise students with the testing format and assessment conditions.
Week 3, Term 2 (May 13 - May 17) NAPLAN Assessment Week 1
Students from Years 3 and 5 will sit their NAPLAN assessments using the online format, except for students in Year 3, who will sit their writing test offline in the traditional pencil and paper format.
While the Australian Curriculum and Assessment Reporting Authority (ACARA) set two weeks for schools to complete the tests, it remains up to individual schools to establish an assessment timetable.
